Morris E. Vickers

Morris VickersFounder and portfolio strategist for Financial Security Advisors is Morris E. Vickers, a retired pastoral minister, Certified Financial Planner® and experienced portfolio manager.

Morris served as an ordained minister for more than 35 years, including Minister of Education, Pastor and, for more than 14 years, Director of Missions of an association of 27 churches located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He began investing as a means of building his personal retirement account only to discover a second vocation in following the ebb and flow of funds within the financial markets. 

In 1981, Morris received his Doctor of Ministry from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. His research thesis – Developing Materials to Enable Ministers to Evaluate Their Retirement Program Alternatives.

This understanding of the issues ministers faced in building retirement security for themselves and their families led Morris in new directions. In 1984, he achieved the Certified Financial Planner® designation and incorporated Financial Security Advisors, Inc. to offer investment assistance to ministers, their families and congregations.

Morris Vickers is a trusted resource to whom ministers, churches and individuals turn to for ideas and information about investing, personal money management and responsible use of money. His systematic investment approach reduces the potential for significant loss without reducing the potential for above average gains.

Twyla J. Vickers

Twyla is Financial Security Advisors’ Office Administrator. Her background is one of immense personal caring and structure, which is reflected in Financial Security Advisors’ service standards.

Twyla’s professional resume is that of an educator. She spent 25 years in elementary education in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, retiring as an early childhood resources teacher, assisting in staff development.

She holds a Masters of Education from Towson State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.  Twyla also earned a diploma of Christian Education from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
